To all who may not know....my 95' GSX is KNOCKING lightly under a load. No its not the fuel. It is hard knock...like rod knock but lighly. What components knock? Knock is due to slack in the rotating assembly. Rods...crank....pistons...balance shafts (by the way, my car still has BS)

My question pertains to all those people who have broke/melted/detonated ect. Pistons.

How plausible is it that I have a broken/melted/detonated piston?

Reason I ask is this.....I just got my engine rebuild kit.....It came with everything except pistons. If I have a broken piston I am screwed. I have to leave this base by 10 Dec 02. Any help you could be is much appreciated.

Yeah you would know if you had a melted or broken piston. You're probably losing a connecting rod bearing and the rod is starting to slap around where it bolts to the crank. Change your oil quick, fast and in a hurry and make sure you don't have a blown head gasket. 2g's have a $hitty rod bearing oiler setup. Baby it until it lets go or you can do the rebuild. Just my .02
