Should I buy an OEM O2 sensor or is it fine to buy the bosch unit from autozone. I talked to one of my friends and he advised me that I should buy one from mitsu rather than a parts store. Opinions and comments please thanks

I personally buy OEM parts because I know they generally work well since they were designed specifically for my car. The Bosch sensors do their job, but I doubt they were designed specifically for our cars. The extra heat might shorten their lifespan. It's a matter of preference really.

Depending on price differences, I would usually go with an OEM but for 100 bucks compared to 40 for the Bosch, which is a direct plug and play, you can't go wrong. I've had mine for about 4 months now and it's still working fine. If you have the money, spend it on an OEM one.

found this denso oem style and connector (plug and play) for $50 at oxygensensors.com
thats pretty damn cheap. i'm sure it works equally as well as the oem sensor.

if you are replacing the post cat sensor,
just get the cheapest one you can find. cause it really doesn't affect performance or economy. from what i've understood, its just there to verify the catelytic converter is functioning.

I really like the price and looks of that denso unit thanks for the info! I think I just may buy it.... this is for the upstream O2 because im getting a fuel trim code thrown and im running super rich and i have 68K on the car and i think its the original sensor....

90 OEM sensors for 1gs. Denso's and Bosch's are junk. Try JNZtuning, $67 for 90 OEM.

Generally I stick with OEM parts for things like (o2 sensors, timing belts, and any maintanence parts, throw out bearings, and engine gaskets) Unless you are a high horse powered car then just stick with OEM parts. Thats just my $.02. It's worked for me.:p

they come from the factory with NTK sensors. thats who makes ngk o2 sensors.
denso is oem replacement thats what my dealer sells. i wouldn't call denso crap seeing as how the majority of the parts on mitsubishis and hondas are made by nippon-denso.
i've been running a denso o2 and it works fine for me. cycles very fast, warms up quickly too. thats all i really need out of a narrowband o2.
every other place i've seen the same denso o2's they are around 90 bucks. the mitsu NTK through sbr is 125 bux, probably more at the dealer.
50 bucks sounds a hell of a lot better to me. seeig as how i could buy 2.5 of them for the same price.
if one goes bad, i'll just order another one.:thumb:

The 1.8 engine has a 2 wire sensor. The 2.0 has a 4 wire sensor. Make sure you're getting the right one.

i just bought the Denso O2 sensors today because of this thread. seriosly i havent changed mine since i bought the car. so i got the front/rear and the socket the total came up to $ 122.91 shipped. ill keep you updated on how it works when i get them in the mail and install them. 3-5 days.

I was gonna buy Denso but it was out of stock at the time from oxygensensors.com, i ended up getting NTK for $77.

Nope, same wiring as a 91-94 sensor, but with a larger sensor surface. Better--for less.
