smim or bigger fmic

I'd go SMIM and TB for sure 100%, your FMIC should be sufficient, and the 2g IM and 2g TB blooow.

Personally I don't like the Greddy fmic setup with long pipes & small diameter but as far as performance for the $, I'd go with the smim as well. Change the fmic when you run out of other things to spend money on :D

He!! yea! Never have to upgrade your intercooler again. Reach the limits of your new Intake Mani :thumb:

Damn right. It really is helpful stuff :D

Rowlex, you know, you're about ready for a set of cams and an FMIM. I'm going to get set of FP2s (i hear they're like hks 272s but more affordable). I'm going aggressive in my duration because I also hear that a relatively new stock valve train can handle repeated ventures into the 8500rpm range. I'll be raising my rev limit with my DSMLink and your 60-1 is "bigger" than my 18G!

Im not just ready for meth/water injection... I HAVE to have it LOL I can't get past 21 psi on this turbo without a bunch of knock on pump.. Unless I can get cams incredibly cheaply the last mod I will do to my AWD is water/meth injection. I am done blowing money on a car i drive 1.5k-2k miles a year, besides that I now have a sportbike :)

Don't forget to get the upgraded valve springs with the fp2 cams.

Do you have any before & after hp/torque, quarter mile times or airflow (lb/min) results from the smim & tb upgrade? I was thinking about one of these after some cams to get the most out of my evoIII, I've heard gains of 4-5 lbs/min from the smim on this size of turbo and was just wondering if these claims are true?

Yup, sport bikes make everything else slooowwww ddoooooowwwwwnnnnn :thumb: . I'd get one, but it would make me feel my car pulls like a turd! :D

>>> This may be off topic. but FP reported that they ran to 8500 repeatedly in testing their FP1 and FP2 cams. I was told that Shep used shims for the longest time and only with a lift that well exceeded an FP2. I was looking at crower springs but they're only like 3 psi stronger. . .

I thought FP says you don't need upgraded valve springs with either the 1's or 2's but you do with the 1x & 2x.

Probably not *needed* but I'd rather be safe then sorry. When/if I do cams i will be using upgraded springs. I wouldnt trust my 100K mile springs to 8500 RPM.
