I just bought a new exhaust manifold from Slowboy and it is ported. I am also going to get a new o2 housing soon also. I have a PLX M300 wideband o2 sensor and it is located in the rear o2, and I have no cat. If I get a o2 housing with a dumptube, will that throw off my wideband readings?
Thanks
Kyle Miller

It shouldnt really affect your readings. The sme exhaust will be going to your wideband as what is going out of the dump. The only time o2 readings are affected is when you have an exhaust leak before the o2 in a situation where oxygen can be pulled into the exhaust stream.

Thanks for the quick respons, but I forgot to mention that my my turbo is internally gated and there is no separation between the wastegate and where the exhaust normally goes through, I cant remember what this is called.

It is a cut divider and you really shouldnt use a dump with it. It will basically sound like open exhaust all the time and Im sure you will get harrassesed by the local pd.

Why do you want to run a dump anyway? There should be no need unless you just like the sound or you suffer from boost creep. If it is for the sound, get used to it because you will hear it at idle, cruising, and wot. That is because the divider is missing in the turbine housing. If you choose to do it for creep, it wont help you. The divider is already cut to help with creep issues and the dump will not flow any better than what you have.

OK thanks that is what I was looking for. The reason I wanted to do this is to help spool quicker. It is rather laggy right now. Would a normal tubular work just fine or is it not worth it?

What o2 housing do you use now and where do you see full spool? I run a 2.5" tubular with a 60-1 with a stage 5 (p-trim) turbine and see 25 psi by 4200rpm. Your turbo isnt small so I wouldnt expect it to spool no sooner than 4krpm.

I have a ported 2g I believe, it came with the car. I see 27psi at roughly 4900. So yeah I want to speed it up a bit. ;)

That is kind of slow. The tubular might help some but not that much. I would go through the turbo setup, ic piping, and exhaust manifold. Make sure you have no exhaust leaks befor the turbine, no boost leaks, and good tune.

I also had a similar problem before and found that it wascuased from excess pressure from the oil feed. I wasnt gettin 25 psi till 4800 and 30psi around 5k. I ended up restricting the oil feed to .082" and it was a night and day difference. Im not sure about the 2g feed pressure but on a 1g with no bs and feed from the filter housing, the turbo gets over 100 psi of oil pressure. With the feed restricted, it brings it down to less than 70psi and evidently, the excess pressure hurts spool times.

I have no boost leaks and no exhaust leaks. Ive check a number of times. It might be the tune. I will also look into the oil feed line. I'm not sure what size it is.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but i was also wondering if an 02 dump would mess with the wideband 02's output? I'm looking into the aem uego or the lc-1, and i have a custom 02 dump so i was wondering if i would need to get a new one? thanks

this was already answered earlier in this post. did you read it?

No. the same exhaust is passing through both passages.
