stafford,
Howdie,

I just ordered a Apex downpipe, and intake...

While at my friends shop, they told me about a Y-shaped flange that is motorized that allows me to dump my exhaust straight out, totally negating the full exhaust system.

Heres a picture to help with it...

Oh, I need to know if anyone has done this, and what type of power / response I will get if any from this.

Thanks alot.

never done it, but seems really similiar to a dumped o2 housing, cept probably alot cheaper. I recall reading about someone who had this done somewhere, but I forget :(

people have said that you must go to neutral when decelerating with it open. If you leave it in gear and engine brake with such short tubing, you can suck air back in and hit the back sides of the hot exhaust valves with cold air, not to mention the reversion of the turbine...

Seems like a good idea to me. If what nine5raptor said is true then just make sure to only use it on a race or at the track, kinda like a shot of nitrous, and shut it when your done. Im sure the gains will be quite large bypassing the cat and muffler. Good luck.
