Ok so my friend had his engine rebuilt and had custom cams put in it on his 2g. So he gets it back and there is no cam sensor on the head it is just blocked off. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before and what the side effects of it are. It doesnt seem to pull like it should above 4000 rpm i was thinking the computer was messing with the timing due to it not being there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

its a 96 motor in a 96 car

There must be a cam sensor there for the car to run at all. On the 96 motor, the cam sensor is behind the intake cam gear so I would assume it was bolted onto the new cams. Could it be that he just needs to get the cams tuned/degreed?

i will take pictures of the engine bay today. Cause like I have a chiltons manual on it and everything and I put the engine in this car for him and when I hooked up the sensors I didnt see anything like that but I will get some pictures up today. Thanks for the help guys.
