Well i took my car in last week to get the bov installed and all they did was take off the black filter i accidently put on. Anyways; 1. When i start my car it will idle at around 1700 then slowly drop down to 1000 after a good 20 seconds, which doesn't bug me but...

2. When i get in 2nd-5th and actually start boosting a good amount and let off my rpm's will drop down to about 100 rpm but the CEL light won't come on ( i know im running rich but i didn't think it was this bad)

3. I opened my hood to check the bov and i noticed a hissing sound coming from the hose that connects to the bov so i tightened it so there was leak and then drove the car...i noticed this made it worse and my car would run rich even if the turbo barely kicked in. So I loosened it like before.

4. Even with my bov venting back into the intake, it still 'acts' like it's running rich in between shifts and it's actually worse than when it's venting.

Question: Anyone know what could be wrong and would my car be 'fine' if i leave the vacuum line loose like that?
Sorry for the really long post I just wanted to be specific.

Thanks in advance
(I'm really starting to think I should have got the Type-S instead :(

hmm.. if your having problems with it recirculated i don tknow.. the problem may not be the BOV.. so it wont matter if you get a type s. unless your hks ssqv is defective.. but i dont see how it could be.. :shrugs: u got me here..

That's how i feel. I don't know what to do...My stock bov is the only one that works fine but I don't want to get the type-s and end up having the same problems. I think im going to keep driving it this way and once i have time try to get someone to look at it and try to figure this mystery out.

you dont have any problems using the stock 2g bov? if so.. then ur hks ssqv may be defective.. are you using stock UIP with the bov? i would recheck everything to make sure everything is installed properly and for leaks..

Checked everything about 10x and yea i still have my stock uicp...I was thinking of getting the dejon one but I don't want to waste money on something that might not even solve my problem. There's no shops around here that I know of that are good with dsm's. I think there's a shop called SP engineering around here and I heard they work on a lot of turbo'd cars so i might check them out.

where in california are you?

i bought my hks ssqv used.. it was all scratched up and dinged up.. but works fine.. and it didnt come with that black filter.. so i dont have it installed.. but i made sure the vac line to the bov was very tight..

Yea i've been having this problem since day 1. Should the vacuum line be connected tightly? The only thing is that the vacuum line is twice the size of the inlet on the BOV...I don't know if that could be the problem too?

yea.. the vac line is twice the size.. but i have a really small clamp and tightened it really really well so i know its secure and no leak..

however, one time i was experimenting and ran it without it hooked up.. i didnt notice a difference.. :shrugs:

where in cali are you?

ahh.. yea i was about to say if you were close by i would take a look at it.. but im sure there are others close to you.. thats why i say we need some REGIONAL forums.. at least for cali.. cause last i checked ba.dsm.org hasnt been updated in hellllla long

anyways good luck man.. hope u get ur problem fixed
