I stripped the flared bolt on the fuel filter inlet(line coming from the fuel tank). :notgood: It seems that the hardline isnt seated all the way in the filter(fuel shooting out), the bolt is stuck half way in and is being a PITA to get off  ... Anyone have any suggestions to make this work. This is the only thing holding me back from starting my freshly rebuilt engine! The meet is a week away and DYNO day is 2 weeks away...I NEED HELP!!
Thanks guys! :talon:

once you remove the flare nut and you know its not reuseable then youll need to cut the only the flared part of the hard line so that you can remove the nut. What you will need is a new flare nut(i dont know what the size is) and a flaring tool. Put the flare nut on the hardline and move the nut away. Flare the end of the hardline and your hard line is now fixed. Now loosely bolt the fuel filter to the firewall so it can still move a bit. Now try and connect the hardline to the fuel filter. Once its tight then tighten the bolts for the fuel filter and attach the line from the filter to the rail.

Thats what i figured i had to do,i bought a tube cutter and a flaring tool today, tomorrow when i have a chance i'm gonna find a new inverted flare tube nut! Thanks for your help! :thumb: :talon:

If your attempts to re-flare the line fail, I still have my OE hard line in my 94 TSi AWD that isn't doing me anything... I guess I could remove it completely if you REALLY need the whole line (I'm running a AN-06 SS fuel line). -It's fittings are perfect on both ends (thanks to line wrenches). PM me if you get to that point... I'm in SJ as well.

BTW, it is a 14mm x 1.5

Thanks for your reply! I went down to Royal Brass in SJ and they hooked me up with a fitting that goes into the fuel filter, that connects to a 5/16 barb to a FI hose that i can put over the hard line. Gonna go start the car right now *Crosses Fingers* :thumb: :talon:

Good Luck with it! Be sure to get some of the "T Bolt" style mini "Fuel Injection" hose clamps to go with it.

BTW FYI, Royal Brass is also good for Bellows-Flex Green Stripe industrial hose (for IC unions) and larger "T Bolt" hose clamps for that custom IC piping job.

By chance are you going to Sacramento Speed Way?
