well i have been having a weird noise when i drive my car, only happens at 1200 rpm or less, anyways, after swapping out water pumps (yeah i took my t-belt off and put the old one back on, and got everything kosher, and started it up) my noise is from the backplate on the crankshaft sprocket rubbing inside my sensor... i am pretty sure i know how it happened (during balance shaft belt install, i think i bent it a little bit) here are pics so you know what i am talking about

the backplate<-- shiny mark on the tip where it was rubbing

the sensor where it was rubbing <-- little wear mark inside of there

-by the way, this post is for Defiant, i dont know how many times i posted about my "noise", i bet he was getting pissed off or something, he never said, but i am sure he will be relieved that i found the problem..thanks again Defiant for helping me out..

you must have not understand what i said, i was talking about when i installed me balance shaft belt, i didnt have the cranksprocket off, so i was working it around the plate and remember bending it a tad, didn't think much of it....if it was crankwalk, why would it be ok before i changed my timing belt, and make a noise after i did it? <-- you don't need to answer, it's a hypothetical question (i think that's the right word?)

Nice Zach, Glad you found it!
PS: I dont think you need to worry about Walking ROFL

well i pulled the trigger plate off tonight, and wow, it was surely bent, it was wavy (i tried to bend it back with it behind the sprocket with a long extension for a 3/8" drive ratchet and a hammer) didn't do a good job, anyways, got it off, straightened it, put it on, and took the air gun and got it torqued to roughly 80 ft/ lbs... .that's the 4th time i've had my t-belt off in the last month.. so wow, what a job haha.. noises make me wonder, anyways, the crankwalk thing, idk, i am positive it isn't.. if it is....well nothing i can do about it...pull the engine and swap a 6 bolt, or else rebuild this one... i dont have any money, and my car likes me.... so far..haha. :thumb:

talon_boy69- now i know where you are coming from after i re-read my post, i should have said i KNOW i bent it, oh well, things could be worse.., haha crankwalk scares me, anyways, it's alright,
