i got my sbr-g54 today from mike huml at slow boy racing. damn this turbo looks really nice, awesome customer service from mike. here are some pics, it does in a week and a half now

You know I dont want to high jack your thread or anything but I think Mike deserves some props. I am not sure how long hes been/owned his buisness but he sure does know the way to gain popularity. Mike Huml of Slowboyracing, IMO, has the best customer service, great prices and from what ive seen he really delivers. He is currently building me a motor as we speak and I have no doubts as of now that it will be awesome! I hope noone gets pissed that I said this or anything, but I just wanted to say that SBR is doing a great job and Im sure future succes will come :thumb:

its a 54 trim garret with a mitsu housing

mike huml is the best guy around imo. i decided to go with him because of his quick emails back and nice person to talk with. he is always willing to help out and seems like he really knows what is going on. the quality of his work in A+++. sbr will see a lot of my buisness and soon it will catch on with everybody i am sure
 
nice choice! mike is a personal friend of mine, everything i buy... is slowboy. i will vouche for mike no matter what. glad to see that the dsm community is starting to care more about service & quality rather than popularity & names. :)
 
what is he g54 ? I didnt see it. I think I might be going with a g50. and again as I said earlier in the post, I will gladly pay more for good service, and we dont even have to with Mike. I think he definetly has some good prices and hes very friendly and that is what matters. Glad to see the dsm vendors caring more about the customer and the community rather than just trying to make money and not haveing good customer service.... way to go Mike!!!
 
i vouch for mike too greatest service and most friendly i got my internally gated 20g also and as of monday ill see what this baby can do
 
Hey Rich if you dont mind would you fil me in on what your setup was at the time of the 12.4@110 was. I spoke a little withyou earlier bout this but now Im close to buying a turbo and am still confused :D I ran my 16g 12.5@109 @22psi on c16 and am curious to see what you did. What kind of power you think your making and how you like you internal and what boost you run on the street? Sorry for all the ??'s but Id really apreciate this :thumb:
 
No prob. I had 16G, FMIC, VPC/AFC, 3" exhaust, etc etc when I ran the 12.4@110, on 23psi and 116 race fuel. I put in a set of 264/264 cams and ran 12.5@111 on 116 race fuel, but that was without 2nd. I couldn't shift 2nd since I killed it the run after the 12.4. I then installed a rebuilt trans and the 20G and ran a 12.6@112 on pump, 21psi, pissing and sputtering down the track. last run of that night, the car stalled in the staging lanes. I have since replaced the alternator, battery, plug wires and plugs. All were bad, causing my car to run like crap. I also installed a supra pump and 650cc injectors. Haven't been to the track since. I like the internal SBR 20G. I get full spool around 3600rpms and I run 20-21psi on the street. The internal adjustable wastegate is nice although I can't seem to get it lower than 18psi without bad creep. Not a problem with me as I haven't run less than 18psi since the car was stock.
 
the g54 is not actually on the website. i am the 1st one for mike to try this set up. i wanted bigger than the 50 trim but smaller than 60 and this is what me and mike worked out for my app. i am pretty sure he is going to start selling this trim also soon.
 
You should have stick with the 50 trim. I dont see how the 54 trim push more air compared to the 50trim by comparing their comp map. The comp map for 50trim looks far better than the 54trim IMO.

spoolinup fmic is cancled and the vp fmic will be ordered soon i hope. maybe not till i sell the stock turbo though. the thing will be installed a week from tuesday when i get back home for thanksgiving break. soon after that i will take it to coastal and see what it can do with stock injectors. the rock will probably be closed but coastal will be open all winter
