Will headers increase the tone of my exhaust sound?

you need to do some research if you do have a gs-t you cant put on headers. do to the turbo.

headers = n/a car

exhaust manifold = turbo car

get a 3" turbo back exhaust including (downpipe, test pipe, and cat back)and it will increase your exhaust tone..

You can put a header on a turbo car! Archer racing use to sell them. The price is what's so bad. Try $500 to $600 bucks for one, but then you still take the chance of it cracking. That's why most people tend to just port the exhaust manifold. (Cheaper)

Are you talking about tubular Turbo manifolds? If so do you have a website or pictures?

How come I never heard these guys talked about before. Those tubular manifolds are sweet and not that expensive as tubular manifolds go. Do you know anyone who has one?

because you may be looking for info in the wrong place honesty i think they are kinda new, i may get one but i am terrified of cracks

the ones in the pic are flanged for mitsu turbos.

On the site it says the come with a T3 or T4 flange only. Why would they crack?

The site explains that you can have the header flanged, for a t3 or t4 *in addition to* the stock flanging for each application. If you notice the site has header applications for many different turbo car, makes and models. tubular exhaust headers are notorious for cracking at the welds.

The stock or Mitsubishi manifolds are cast in one piece. Tubular manifolds are welded together, which creates weak spots at the welds. If the manifold reaches temps, that exceed the weld temps. the welds will crack as they cool. Remember when the manifold gets hot it expands as it cools it contracts.

well i know the supra boys, (who i plan to be a member of very soon) get tubular headers with some single turbo kits. i have not heard of many cracking header problems with them. so i gather, it has to do with the quality of the initial welding

At only 375.00 I may be the guinea pig for these headers. I'll just get them coated at HPC Coatings which is right down the street from me.

You won't notice that much more of a difference compared to a professionally ported exhaust manifold. But if your trying to extract every last bit of hp that you can, then spend the money on a header. But remember... You get what'cha pay for!

Yeah, I've been looking at this header for a while, but have not heard of anyone with one. If any of you guys get one, let me know how it holds up.
