I got my Evo manifold from RRE yesterday, and it's got sticky stuff all over it. I assume this is to keep it from rusting during shipping. Do I need to wash this off or is it ok if it burns off?

my 2g manifold was like that too. i just let that shit burn off. all it did was smell for alittle bit and it was fine.

it's similar to cosmoline or something like that...

just use a scotchbrite pad, a little clr kitchen cleaner (or similar cleaner) and scrub it down... then rinse and scrub with soap and water to get the cleaner residue off. I think mine smelled for about 10 seconds afterwards and then was scent free.

I'm anal about not working with dirty greasy parts...
