i just bolted on my APEXi N1 Exhaust System and LOVE it. Although looking at the OEM downpipe makes me want to replace it. Will a APEXi GT Downpipe fit on the N1 system? or will any companies downpipe bolt to the N1 without any problem? also with a 3'' DP, will this create any problems with a stock engine? will i run lean? thanks. :dsm:

You can bolt up the RRE down pipe, N1, or GT spec downpipes. I guess also the Megan. =) I'm sure there are more, but i'd stick with name brands on the downpipe if u have the N1.

so running lean wouldnt be an issue? how likely is it that boost creep would emerge?

is your turbo ported at all, if so is the wastage area ported out well and will flow well? if so then boost creep shouldnt be a problem with a properly ported turbo, but if not opening up the exhaust a decent amout could cause it to occur. whatever you do, if boost creep arises, dont try to fix it like some people do by adding a cat and restricting the exhaust. this is just plain stupid, a properly ported turbo will not creep as many people have found out. :thumb:

turbo isnt ported, niether is wastegate...stock T-25 once i lose the stock cat, one wont go back on! :rocks:

once you get a downpipe hook it up and see what happens if boost seems to spike or creep or anything look into properly porting your turbo so that boost is controlled, if it doesnt creep, then good deal :thumb:

if u added a 3'' o2 housing than it would be more likely to creep. u should make sure to get a downpipe with a thick flange and thick welding as well....trust me. :thumb:

While on the issues of downpipe sizes and all that, I tried putting my 3" megan on today. I got a few of the screws off, but ultimately I had to take it in to Muffler Man cause I just couldn't get it off :| The guy said that the pipe was too large where it connects at the O2 housing and said he couldn't put it on. However, now that I'd be able to get all the bolts off in the driveway, will it actually fit and the guy just didn't think it would work or what? Do I need to a get a 2.5" opening into a 3" pipe? Again, iwhat I have is a 3" downpipe with the stock 02 sensor. Thanks for the help.

you shouldnt have to buy a new 02 housing for any downpipe. Unless specified. I just put a APEXi gt downpipe on my GSX and it bolted up perfectly. Granted the bolts were hard as s**t to break loose :notgood: i had to take my car to the local speed shop to get my n1 on. i couldnt break the bolts loose on the cat or the 02 sensor to save my life. LOL!
