condition of this turbo help please

i might be able to trade my headers for this turbo its a 16g.

please tell me if it looks in good condtion, all i heard was no shaft play, and no oil line connected.
so what exactly would i need to hook this up to my car?

From the pics it looks okay. You will need a J-pipe, new oil return & supply line and new crush washers for the coolant lines which will fit with a little modification. You can get a braided oil supply line and run it from your oil filter housing or you can go to the dealer and get a 1G oil supply line w/banjo bolt which connects to the 10mm plug on the front left side of your head and a plug for the filter housing.

BTW: I hope it comes with the exhaust housing. :confused:
 
Yeah, forget about that 1g oil supply line. Goto slowboy racing and get a SS for the FILTER HOUSING. It's your best bet. No shaft play and turbine looks good. I'd say go for it, but remember. I could say I drive a ferarri when I really drive a Talon.
 
As long as there is no shaft play it should be OK. As far as the turbine goes, it looks OK...nothing warped/bent/messed up. It might be helpful so find out how many miles are on it, just for pricing and stuff. I don't know about you, but i wouldn't feel that great about putting a turbo with 40k miles on it on my car, you know? But yeah, looks good. Make sure you have everything you need to install it (ie. lines, washers, gaskets, housings etc) Hope it works out.

is that all i need? and i didnt realize that the turbine housing was so expensive, can i re-use my t25 turbine housing?

so im lookin at about 500 dollars in parts to make this new turbo work? I'm starting to think thi wasn't such a good idea now...
 
how much are you payin for this turbo?
for $500 I'll sell the same 16g turbo with everything needed to get it installed :D
perfect shape!!! fast ass spool, faster than my dieing t25 anyways.

oh yeah seems like that turbo has no wastegate actuator either...
 
im not paying a dime, im trading some paceheaders that i worked on, reinforced al lthe welds, high heat coated them, and i never instaleld them so they are still brand new, i have the gaskets and bolts and instructions that came with them too.

what i meant by the 500 is that i'll be getting a new turbo, but ill have to spend 300 on a turbine housing and another 250-300 on an installation kit. that seems rediculous to me as i can find a used turbo for that much money.
 
no, i dont believe the t-25 turbine housing can be used on a 16g
what you can do is find a really cheap 14b housing and use that, the 13g and t-25 housings wont work though. You can prolly even get the wastegate actuator off a 14b. You can pick up a full 14b turbo for really cheap, check the classifieds, find one that needs rebuilt, buy it dirt cheap and part it out :thumb:
 
i just decided not to trade. luckily i told him before he shipped it out. but thanks for all the input guys :)
