Seeing im to cheap to buy the extention to mount it in the cab. I wanted to know where everyone else is mounting there MAFTs under the hood? Whats the best spot to keep it from getting wet and shitted on? Any pictures would be usefull. Thanks homies!

Does your car has ABS or not. That would make a difference. I would mount it where the ABS would be. Not a spot that is gonna get too dirty and won't get wet either. If you have ABS I would probobly mount it on the firewall by the fuel filter depending on how much wire you have to work with.

I dont think he could have abs since he's a 90. I dont think 90's came with that option. If you just need a temporary spot get yourself some velcro and stick it around the battery. Hell you could put it on the battery if you wanted. That will reach without an extension.

You could always splice the wires to mount it in the cabin...

I mounted my MAFT on the ABS unit in my 91, but you can see two velcro pieces on the side of my fuse block in the bottome of this pic. That is where I had the MAFT mounted first. However having it facing up is easier for unscrewing the cover to adjust it.

If you look at my gallery and see my upper innercooler pipe..it kind of bends right after the TB elbow... whats the recommended distantance they say to but it from the TB elbow... its looking like i would have to cut out a spot after that bend, in the middle somewhere

I just used some self drilling screws and mounted the bracket to the frame rail. The bracket itself was made from a scrap piece of .100" aluminum I had laying around at work.

I had some extra lexan laying around so I bent the cover on my sheet metal brake at work. I sealed the mating edges with clear urethane caulk.

EDIT: The intake is the cip-1gq-3 which is the 3" vpc intake. The color is almost chrome according to dejon. It actually looks more like a mildly polished aluminum but it works with the color scheme I have under the hood alread. Here is another pic of the whole setup.

Screwed into the firewall behind the TB elbow. It's away from heat and never been hit with water. I've never wished that it was in my cabin. There are only 4 knobs to really tune. That doesn't equate to getting out of the car to adjust something many times if you know what you're doing.

i bought three different colors of wire and solderd and shrinkwraped so i could have it inside the car for easy adjustment.it sucks to have to pull over get out open the hood to change a setting to get what you want.
