2G Thermastat location

Okay, just so I'm not losing it here, I am assuming the 2g thermastat housing is attached to the side waterneck (hose connected to it connects t other part of the radiator underneath. I was looking at the vfaq and it shows it to be under the top waterneck (radiator cap is connected to this). I guess this is for a 1G only because the gasket I got as well as thermastat will not fit there.

This question should probably be under General, but anyway...

The thermostat is under the radiator cap. Remove the two 12mm bolts, and you will see it.

Thats for a 1g, not a 2g ...i took mine off and its not there. Its inside the side waterneck that connects to the lower radiator hose I am guessing and others have told me that also now.
