sheets of fabric to make gaskets?

i was wondering if there is any place out there that i can get like a sheet of the material used to make gaskets. something like a 12"x12" sheet... i have never seen them before, but i am sure that they sell them like that. thanks

Any auto parts store sells rolls of gasket material.

go to NAPA, Autozone ect or whoever your national autoparts store is and ask for ther different gasket making material. and mention that you are trying to make your own gaskets on a peice that will be removed and reinstalled continuously and a liquid is out of the question. (silicon, liquid gasket ect...)

NAPA and autozone have good material for making gaskets for something that will not see much heat, but for exhaust gaskets you're going to need some more heavy duty stuff. I use Mr. Gasket exhaust gasket material that I got from Summit. Jegs also has it. I use the "ultra seal". I need to point out, though, that this is not to be used within at least a few feet of the exhaust manifold on our cars. The gases are WAY too hot for this stuff.
