will this exhaust fit?

I have a 96 spyder gs-t. i wanted 2.5 or 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust but it was expensive so i checked with an exhaust shop. They said there wasnt enough room for 3 inch exhaust without it rubbbing against the body. They said they didnt even think there was enough room for 2 and a quater inch exhaust. I have seen pre-fab mandrel bent 3 inch exhaust all over the internet. Will 3inch fit in my car? Does it matter that mine is a convertible? To tell you the truth it doesnt look like there is enough room above the rear axle for the exhaust to fit. Thanks alot, Matt

Go somewhere else...3" is tough in a fwd but it's possible...Sounds like the shop is a pack of wankers. I have 3" on my fwd, btw

3 inch is quite common on FWD's and just fine on the Spyder as well.

I think most 3" exhausts go under the rear cross member. I know my RNRRacing exhaust does on my 2G FWD. The rest of the exhaust is pretty tight against the underside of the car in the stock location.
