Toronto,
Bought my 97 GSX few weeks back with stock intake and exhaust (with muffler and test pipe/no cat). Firs thing was wrong, DP where it connects with test pipe was leaking. I installed a new intake on the car and just got it back today from ETD racing here in Toronto, with full turbo back custom exhaust, (2.5” DP and 3” high flow cat back). Guys @ ETD told me that my O2 sensor was literally welded in the o2 sensor housing and basically was toasted. Also secondary o2 sensor after CAT is disconnected too. That would explain why I have like NO HP at all and takes me half a tank to drive 100 KM (~60 miles) and @ WOT after 4k RPM car jiggles and struggles to accelerate and backfiring.

What I am wondering, is that the end of my problems? And getting new o2 sensor with better flowing housing and connected secondary o2 will fix these problems I’ve been having? I just got my new FB Big T28 bolt on and just taking out the small T25 with the housing and put it in with a new sensor. Also big FMIC with piping still being shipped atm.

The front o2 sensor is the problem, the back one does nothing and doesn't matter if it is disconnected.

But if the back one is D/C doesn’t it make some sort of loop in the ECU? And also since my ECU been dumping all the fuel should I also change my spark plugs? Weird thing is that my engine light doesn’t go on ether even that it’s D/Ned

The only function the rear o2 sensor serves is to monitor the cat.

Read this o2 fix this will tell you

But I have my CAT and going to connect the secondary O2 sensor, its the main one which is "not working". Also my engine light is not on ether (suppose to be on when second o2 is D/N) and when i unplug MAF sensor, it still doesnt go on... light probably was disconnected or something, so i have to fix that...LOL but how? :) Also do I have to buy O2 sensor MADE for my car or they are all the same? Local Mitsu dealership told me that it cost 190 CAD (~155 USD) for one and thats a lot for a damn sensor

I just replaced my 02 with a Bosch with stock harness from a local parts store for $75.

Hey another from ETD. John's a good guy there does really nice works and cares that it is nice and looks good as well as functions. They got me my 50 trim and installed the front mount and some other small things I go to see them for. Some exhaust piping here and there etc. Dsmjim from this site also formerly worked there until he decided he would rather be a banker :shhh:
