V#@%#@%#@% down,Eliminate O2 sensor

I installed my Apexi dp and 3" exhaust today but couldn't get the 02 sensor out after 2 hours of trying so i said F@k it and cut it off. Now my Check engine light is on and my idle is at 1100rpms instead of 700. How can I fix this? Oh the dp eliminated the cat. No emmisions for me....

Dude, you shoulda went to the auto parts store and got that special open-ended socket to take O2 sensors out. Your prolly gonna have to go get another O2 sensor unless you can pry your old one out.

if you have a rear oxygen sensor and you don't have a cat anymore then it's gonna throw a SES light.

The oxygen sensor is necessary for the car to run well. It's going to do nothing but run like poop until you buy a new one to replace the old one you cut off. The CEL is because the car can see that there's no O2 sensor, which it needs.

The best way I've found to get the sensor out (done it a couple times now) is to heat it out. It's too late now that you've got the old DP out of the car, but what I do is drive around for a bit, not too hard or anything special, just like to the store and back, and then then use the O2 sensor socket I bought at Autozone and a breaker socket wrench (Or a regular socket wrench with a long pipe slipped over the handle). It it feels like it doesn't want to go, just keep steadily increasing pressure, and it'll go eventually.

Your car will continue to run like crap until you buy a new sensor and install it. It's going to run very rich, poor gas mileage, idle, etc.

When you get the new sensor, look at the threads (the two ones I bought have had a plastic cover over the threads, pull that off to look) to see if there is some anti-sieze goop on there. If there isn't, do yourself a favor and go to a car store, buy a tube of it, and put it on the threads, so that you can avoid this next time.

u dumbass u cut it off?? i feel for ya tho...i tried replacing mine and that mofo was in tight as hell....use lots of wd 40 and a 22 mm closed end wrench....works best but you might have to take the manifold out.....i broke a friends manifold tryin to get a stuck o2 sensor out ....it just rounded off....so we went to a junkyard and got a manifold for 40 bucks and put it in and everything was aight...dont buy those opened sockets for o2 sensors they suck and unless its already loose it wont do u any good but slip off and round it off probably....lemme know how it goes for ya...remember....wd40 and lots of oil will get that beeotch loose

I used plenty of 3M penetrating oil for ten days I sprayed it before and after school Then decided to see if it would come off. IT did! in fact it came off so easy I almost hurt myself....... My car runs like a champ now.

I had to cut the wires on both of my o2 sensors...soaking in pb blaster and torching, then beating with 26oz hammer on a large crescent wrench had no effect on them. I now have a bosch sensor on the front and a 02 sensor elimnator on the back
