Noise Box?

i was looking through an ebay auction that was sellin T3/T4 exhaust manifolds and they mentioned something called a noise box that you remove and it makes your spool up sound alot louder. ive never heard of a noise box though. are they refferring to the lower intercooler pipe silencer? they said it makes your turbo spool sound really loud once removed. just wondering about this.

they are referring to the lower intercooler pipe silencer thing that is commonly found on many 95 turbo cars, but not all of them.
