cracked my flexpipe now gain boost slow

hey just a quick question i searched and couldnt find what i was looking for but anyways. my flexpipe came aprt on one end from the exhaust pipe and now im spooling real slow i dont hit full boost till 5000-5500rpms. will a exhust leak do this i mean its not a TINY LEAK one side is off the pipe completly and i noticed my boost problem right after i found my exhaust leak and advice would be greatly appreciated

It should correct the boost prob when you replace the flex section, big exhaust leaks suck

im planning on replacing whole exhaust with 3 inch pipe no cat to a apexi n1 can the wont cause turbo lag will it trust im not a newbie i do all my own work i just like to double check everything

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think an exhuast leak at the flex section will cause you to spool slower. Check for some boost leaks, or a leak between the mani. and the turbo.

i'd say your right. A leak at the flex section would make you faster

The crack in your flex pipe isn't the problem. How did it crack? I'd check your turbo bearings first(it's quick and easy), then check for some boost leaks(IC pipes)

first i do hit full boost and i go over i hit about 13 psi now. but i have no low end power. i hit maybe 4 or 5 at 3300rpm but when i hit 500-5500 it goes up to like 13.

perhaps the next step then would be to ckeck the turbo compressor for "play"
Also make sure you have no exhaust leaks between the engine and the turbo. Have you checked fot boost leaks yet?

for the broken flex section...check driver side motor mount. they can go out pretty quick on hard launches with a lot of wheel hop. my "backup" car (94 galant) blew a flex section recently, but also needed a crank pully (same as eclipse with rubber inserted pully) and i noticed that the drivers side mount was busted. i would imagine the extra movement caused the flex section to go. and could have loosened other things causing the posable (sp) boost leaks.

You probably have an Exhaust leak PRE turbo...any exhaust leak after the turbo won't hurt anything.
