ok so this weekend i had to swap out my dead 14b for another one. i got everything back together and ran a boost leak check and it seems that i have a major leak. its right around the turbo and for the life of me i cant find it. when i swapped to my other turbo last time i had the same problem. the system wont hold that much boost but if i take the car out on the road it will hold 17 psi all day. my o2 was showin .91-.93 which is a lil rich but nothin that major. i just replaced the o2 along with this turbo and i havent gotten it out to check the new o2 voltages. anyone have an idea on wuts leaking? i got a new gasket for the turbo outlet and i put some rtv on it to make sure it was sealed. there is a possibilty that my tester has a problem but im not too sure.
Thanks

did and i still cant find it. i found a decent size one at the bov and i fixed that one. i dunno where its comin from.

If it's leakin around the turbo i would say its the o-ring on the intake side..i have had 3 of these leak on me....its hard to find but if you use a piece of vacuum hose to your ear and then other end near the leak you will find it......i bet its that o-ring...

oil return line? wouldnt that b leaking oil if it was bad? it better not b the compressor housing o-ring. i just put that turbo on and i dont wanna take it back off to tear it apart and put it all back together. im gonna make another leak tester and c what happens. like i said i had the same leak last time and it didnt make a difference in the way the car ran. it pulled hard and held 17psi with no problems. :talon:

listen i know how to do a boostleak test. i sprayed the entire area down 5 times and i cant find the leak. its a massive leak. i cant get it to hold more then 10 psi. it will not kick out the actuator on the turbo. thats what leads me to belive its in the tester. ill update this weekend once i have a chance to build another tester. :talon:

Do you have a boost controller hooked up? How does the gasket look on the compresor outlet?

If your turbo is leaking then it is an o-ring inside the turbo. My old 14b used to leak there.
