Valve Job

allright, i'm going to have a valve job done b/c all of mine got bent from timing belt problems...

the Q?: What all should I do while my engine is apart?

i'm going to replace the water pump and t-belt, should I do anything else while i'm in there for more power (besides port)?

Sounds like you have an opportunity to do some good engine work.

I am not too sure on porting. Seems to me you would want/need someone who can remove material and show the gains. I wouldn't go for the cheap "hand job". If you are uncertain then port matching and extrude honing are proven gains.

I have also seen other posting that show going to larger diameter intake valves helps flow a lot. Oh, I'm thinking a mm oversize, with a good five angle or better yet, constant radius seat. Just make sure the seat isn't sunk down - I haven't seen any power gains by doing that!

Final note: the amount of material removed is in direct proportion of chance for leaks!
