How should I mod my engine???

Hey guys, I'm new here and I bought a 95 Eagle Talon TSI AWD in August. I love my car and it is quick, but I seem to need more . I want to drop in a new engine w/ a 16g turbo and front mount intercooler and the works but I don't want to use my current engine. It has 116k on it and its my daily whip so I don't want to put too much stress on it. If I were to mod my engine would it be best to a.) buy a rebuilt engine and if so what places are good? b.) Buy an engine from a junkyard that has less miles than mine? c.) Have my current engine rebuilt? (The reason I cannot rebuild my own engine is because I am going to be going to college soon and I won't have the time.) Please take into account both performance and budget related issues. Thanks a lot.

If your looking to buy an engine. You can check our www.buschurracing.com They're cheapest shortblock is $2,000.

If your on a budget, your best get it going for a 1g 6-bolt engine with 95 pistons. That will good for about 500 HP. Hopefully there is someone in your area that can build this for you, as it would be cheaper then buying it from Buchur.

You would want to get a 1g head, unless you want to spend some more money porting out the 2g head. But 2g heads aren't that bad.

You may be lucky and find 1g 6-bolt longblock in the junkyard. You can also check www.dsmtrader.com There are always people selling 6-bolts over there. Just be safe when you buy from another person. Good luck.
