what kind of oil to run

I run Royal Purple 20-50 or racing 50 weight. Honestly, as long as you change it every 3K miles, regular 10-40 works fine. Penzoil, Quakerstate, Mobil....any namebrand.


If your oil concious, like me, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, and Amsoil are great to use.....

There is also Motul if you can get your hands on it for a decent price.

I've always used Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W-30 and recently switched to Royal Purple 10W 30. Don't get me wrong, I still like Mobil nor do I think there is anything wrong with it, just trying something new. Be sure not to cheap out on oil filters.

If your as anal as I am about oil, just do some homework on the various brands. Check there specifications...ie: Viscosity Index, flash point, pour point etc. Below is a link to a good oil article. Take a read, I'm sure it will help in your decision.

I used to use Mobil1 10w-30, but switched to Amsoil 10w-30. I see lower oil temps with the Amsoil. I use Mobil1 oil filters though

Same here . I prefer those or K&N oil filters. Unfortunetly, you have to oder K&N filters. So why bother when everyone and thier mother stocks Mobil1 filters.
