why is it that my car runs better with the mas unplugged, it stalls a little if you get back into the gas to hard after coming off the pedal 100%. i have no afc. i Have a 90 car with a 92 ecu. I have asked everyone localy that i know has knowledge on dsm's
Ive replaced the mas with a known good one, i cant find a 90 ecu to swap that and see if it fixes it. It runs better like this than with the mas plugged in.

The 1990 DSM is the bastard year for the DSM's. That 92 ECU you're using will make the car jerk and studder. You can only use a 1990 ecu for your car unless you do the 2 wire swap on the ECU. One of the wires is the swap has to do with the air flow sensor so maybe thats why it run better with your mas unplugged. Just knowing your car still ran still boggles me. Follow this pinout and switch #6 and #14 this will probably do the trick. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-1G.html

thanks im gunna try it when i get it back togther and let yall know...damn i guess i cant vent to atmosphere anymore....

I am pretty sure the 90 model had 1 wire difference on the hook up for the MAS then all other 1g's. Using a 92 computer and 90 MAS might be your problem.

when i swapped th mas with a known good one i swapped it with the part from the car i got the ecu from. In other words it dosent make a diffrence if i run it with a 92 ecu and a 90 mas or a 92 ecu and a 92 mas.... :dsm:

if i go with a gm maf and translater, is it gunna work with the wire switch? :dsm:

i dont know much about 1g's, but when i was looking for one i was told to watch out for 90's as the following list is different i believe, Shifter linkages, center diff,
intermediate shaft, transefer case, tranny output shaft, ECU,TPS, o2 sensor, CAS, IAC, throttle body, coilpack, transistor pack, but hopefully you get her fixed :thumb:

unfourtantly i wasnt warned as to this being the basterd child.........but slowly ill rectify that
