I've got to rebuild the head on my 6-bolt and while I had the head off, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to pull the rods and pistons, give it a quick hone and replace them with a new balanced set of Eagle rods and 2g pistons.

Are there any issues with doing this?
Can I reuse the rod bearings (assuming they are good - they should be)?
Can I simply get the same diameter 2g pistons with a new set of rings?

Thanks in advance,
-Jacob

If I was in your shoes I would take out the whole motor and make sure all the surfaces are good.. U can do this with the motor in the car because the front cover has to come out for the crank to come down. Well actually u can but its a hassel u save so much time with a engine lift. I have done a "re-ring" what a pain in the ass with the motor in the car.
