i would like to keep my stock turbo and i have narrowed it down to comp or hks...and not worring about the price of hks cause i got a hook up on it. so if was to put on the 264 hks would i actually be loosing hp because of the restriction of the smaller turbo? or would it help a good amount? what about if i put the bullseye housing on it? or should i go with the comp 100? or 200? whatever i can get the most gain out of on my stock turbo is what i would like to get.

Why keeping your stock turbo?? OMG Why not upgrading instead of buying cams? I'm pretty sure you would see way more improvement on a bigger turbo than cams, just my 2 cents. But anyways I would go with comp cams :thumb:

Cams allow your engine to move more air in and out... it cant do this with a bottleneck in your exhaust like the 14b. If your going to keep the stock turbo cams would be a waste of money imo.

Not true. It makes your engine breathe more efficiently in upper rpm range, making each firing of the cylender more efficient. Less exhaust in chamber means cleaner air/fuel ratio's wich makes more hp. It would make more power on a t25, but more notable power on larger turbo's where the efficiency range of the turbo is much higher in the rpm band.

Ok I know how a cam works.. and yes you will make SOME power. My point is its a waste of money on a small turbo.. sure the cams give you more efficiency in the upper RPMs but the 14b cant hold boost that high anyway. I think with a turbo that can move over 550cfm cams will net a good gain for the cost.

If you had a goal like low 12s on a 14b then yeah go nuts get cams. But other than that there are better places to spend your money.

yah..good thinking i think ill go with a turbo upgrade first...an evo 3? what would be better, getting the porting an flapper done by whichever company i get it from or buying it and putting the bullseye exhaust housing on it?

Is your profile up to date? If so... screw the cams and get a boost gauge, exhaust, and MBC first. While your'e at it port the turbo, manifold and o2 housing. It'll feel like a different car after that. If you have all this done already and forgot to update... go with the HKS cams, if your hook up on the price is short term. You can always upgrade the turbo and fuel system later.
