hey guys i was looking to buy a 99 gsx eclipse but was told the engine has bad crank walk.so i was thinking a 92 6 bolt engine swap. i was gonna try to build a low 10 sec car i was wondering if anyone can help me out on my project what would u do or suggest and prices would be helpfull.i do not want to nos this car. i was hoping for a daily driver to.thanks
 
Ok here's the problem

This equation: Low 10 Sec 1/4 + Daily Driver + DSM = :cry:

I'm not trying pre-judge you but it just sounds like you've been watching a little too much 2F2F or Tunervision. I'm not crushing your dreams, but even an 11second 2G DSM daily driver is a stretch. I'm not saying it can't be done, but you better have, as Paul Walker and Ludacris say "deep pockets" and be able to flash rolled up wads of $100 bills too.

If you wanna be a little more specific about how much cash you have to spend, then maybe we can help a little more.

just wnated to see what all had to be done to a car and the different suggestions. dosent matter how much it costs. i dont whatch much t.v :)
 
Guys, don't go too hard on him. He's converting over from a Civic with nitrous :rolleyes: I told him to search and research but oh well.
 
I wasn't really trying to be hard on him, it's just the post makes him sound like he's already getting in over his head.

If you want a 10second daily driven car, get an old muscle car and drop a BIG ASS motor with a blower on it :p

If you want a great looking, quick car, well capable of hitting low 12's fairly reliably, then a 2G GSX is the way to go.

Scroll up to the top of the screen and click "Tuning Guide" and follow it from there, that will give you a good baseline knowhow of how you want to go about modding the car.
 
you want a low 10 second daily driver dsm????? Not to burst your bubble, but if you are asking us how to build a 10 second car then chances are it won't happen. I did a full motor build up as well as a 6 bolt swap in my 97 gsx and I'm expecting mid 11s or so. Low 10s require a camaro or something of that sort :cool:
 
low 10's require a Mullet?? hmm never knew that :)


but seriously though. a 92 6 bolt is a good year to get for one because more of the parts will work with yours (i.e. Throttle Body, etc...)

and yes shoot your goals for mid 12 sec. area on a gsx and low 13 for a GST :( then you will understand what it takes to drop the time.
