I have a 95 GST and a 6 bolt, 91 CAS. Whats the best wiring method to go byto wire the CAS up. Method 1 is what I'm leaning to but I am having a terrible time finding the IC chips locally that I need to invert the signals. People keep telling me that method 2 is better, but it seems more complicated and I dont like the idea of having to switch everything around. Is there by chance some other way? (without a DSMLink)

I use "Method 2". Its simple wiring and switching of the plug wires, or switching the signal wires to the coil.

Soo, if I switch the coil pack wires, I dont have to switch anything else?
But if I dont then I have to switch the plug wires.

PS Tell Mark WHATS UP!!!

Kim, it's like this... make the harness or buy rre's. Swap plug wires. Switch injector wires on the ecu (I promise it's not hard). Basically, if I remember correctly, you just take the 4 pins (two top, two bottom) all the way to the far left (as you're looking at the ecu). You switch those pins 1 position clockwise.

Yep. I second the Method 2. Swap the plugs. I think my plug order is 4-1-2-3 now. That's what really made the biggest difference. Switching the wires on the ECU didn't really affect my 2g that much. You can always get dsmlink and use the "invert cas signal" that it comes with too.

my friend has method 2 on his...the car came that way...and its IMPOSSIBLE to get that thing to run right....we have tried everything under the sun (he even has link) soon as it boosts..BAM...timing drops to 0 sometimes negative 1...i think if i ever did a 6 bolt in a 2g, id swap out the wiring harness and ecu along with it

If I understand correctly, with method 2 you can either change pins in ECU and swap the spark plug wire or just re-wire the coil pack. Maybe whoever he got it from didnt do it right. Seems to me maybe a Link cant invert something thats already been "inverted" if it was done incorrectly. Just a thought

My understanding is...according to the dsmlink forums...if you've got dsmlink and you've already swapped the injector wires on the ecu, then you DON'T want to invert the cas signal with link.
