I spun a bearing saturday night and now i have rod knock. i'm thinking about going with eagle rods and wiesco pistons. is it possible to turn the grind the crank undersized if nessasary, such as .010 under if the jurnal is too damaged to polish out? if so, where would i find the bearings to fit? Who has the best deals on pistons and rods?

The machine shop can turn the crankshaft, and Thy will be able to get you the bearings that will fit the crank. diamondstarmotorsport.com has an Eagle rod, Wiseco combo for $835

I found eagle/wiseco combo at Race Engineering here in Florida for $725. I guess thats about as good as it gets. Why would aftermarket forged pistons and rods not be good on the street? I have run them in V8's for years with no problem. Why would a 4 cylinder be any differrent? Stock rods obviously do not stand up to the abuse of 18 psi and 7500 rpm's.

I am not personally a big fan of turning our cranks. I would sooner you buy a new crank, or do the 6 bolt swap since you are there!

Forged piston, and eagle rods is a gerat street combo.

I've seen them take 30psi, and 8500 by probably 10 cars for over a year+. Constantly raced cars.

18psi isn't going to blow any stock rod, unless you are as bright with tuning as you are with dispelling myths. ;)
