did you have the balance shaft eliminated or is it still in tact? i was told to eliminate mine since i will be boosting so much and driving at such a high rpm. thanks for all your input :D

what is the whole theory about removing it? i just want to get a better understanding about it, thanks.

Yah, my motor is still stock...but since we pulled it from my FWD to swap to the AWD.,....I to removed the Balance Shaft belts...I used the RRE eliminator kit.

One nice benefit to not having a BS belt, you never have to worry about it breaking and taking out the timing belt. :) It also frees up some rotational mass.

Increased vibration is the only thing I could think to be at all negative about removing them. But I have solid motor mounts so what do I care. :D

thats what i am hearing...vibration. it seems to be the only bad thing about it. is the vibration really bad? could the vibration damage any parts?

I also have them removed. I can not attest to faster reving motor or not becuase I did a lightened flywheel too at the same time. There is some more vibration at idle and smooth accell down low, but you get used to it really fast. You also can change a timing belt in under an hour. I used the FFWD kit because the oil pump shaft has oil grooves in it unlike most of the other kits which do not.

about how much is the eliminator kit? they have done it already and i want to see if i got screwed in the price.

thanks alot guys for all the input!!! i sure wish i would have found this site sooner.
ok enough sobbing. back to building, peace
