Couple questions I'm trying to sort out before starting on a new project. Forgive me for newbish questions.

Intake: Are the 1G intake mani and throttle body a large restriction when aiming for 550-600awhp assuming you've got the rest of the gear to achive those numbers?

Fuel: Are the stock fuel lines, filter, and rail a restriction when aiming for those numbers? basiclly are a 255 pump, sufficiant injectors, and an AFPR enough? Would the 255 low pressure pump be recommended or the high pressure?

Drivetrain: My plans include a shep tranny but are upgraded transfer case and/or rear end recommended for a street/strip car putting down those numbers? I see the 4 spyder center availible but are there rear end upgrades availible or even needed?

And one random question: What 2Gs were availible with a LSD rear? Certain years?

If you have AWD you have a limited slip rear, how else could it be AWD? Tere should be a sticker onthe door jamb, drivers door. Check it out.
I'll let the few who have reached the stratosphere with their HP answer your other questions.
 
all awd dsm's have lsd stock in the rear end (including 2g's) the stock rear end holds purty good - its the trannys (mostly in 1g's) that go out - and prolly if your puttin down the right trq #'s youd snap a couple front drive axels
 
the stock 1g head setup could capably get upper 500 hp if everything else is there to support it..

I have personally seen a car dyno 550+ awhp with stock fuel lines, with a 300 l/hr (cosmo I think) fuel pump. just had a aeromotive AFPR


the only AWD DSM rear end to be troublesome is the 3 bolt rear end.. it is only in the early years 89-92.5, and I thought some of the 3 bolts were a open diff rear end..



the statement about its AWD so of course it is LSD in the rear is false.. even with a LSD in the rear it is still 3WD it is still open diff in the front :thumb:
 
Thanks for clarifying on the rear end. I'll probably pass on the 4 spider center also because I'm not into going to the track every week. I'll probably go a few times a year at most.

Now for the fuel is the "I've seen" thing a freak example or are most people ok on stock fuel lines? I remeber seeing a kit that switched to a high flow fiter and braided lines in the engine bay for like $200 but can't remember who made it. Can someone post up a link if you know what I'm talkin about? Thanks!

I know my AWD has 3 drive wheels. most 4 wheel drive trucks have 2 drive wheels, 1 front and 1 rear, still call them 4 wheel drive! All AWD DSM's have limitedslip rears, sorry for any confusion. Mark
