One of the few times I take the cheaper route and it bites me in the ass.

I order the FTS FPR figuring enough people have them and there really had not been any problems and plus the price is nice.

I was thinking for getting the SBR line/adapter kit + FPR, but I figured I would save alittle. Plus, I liked the idea of a bolt on FPR.

Bolt-on is certainly not true.

1. You have to grind two spots on the rail to provide clearance for the nuts that hold the FPR adapter plate on. No biggie, but none the less.

2. The adapter bracket is a poor design and too big in certain areas and too thin in others. You have to grind the shit out of one spot in order to provide enough clearance for the one spark plug wires. Even then it is still a tight fit. If you look at the adapter closely there are two points where the material is thin. If it were to break at these points, the part that bolts to the rail and the part that bolts to the regulator would seperate, allowing the FPR to shoot off the rail.

3. I broke the cap on the spray end of injector #4 while around trying to get everything to fit.

4. Despite asking if the gauge will fit and geting a "Yes" answer, the gauge will not fit because it hits the adapter. You need to do an extension or elbow.....which unforunately will cause me an extra trip.....If I knew, I could have picked up extra parts when I was at the store eariler in the day.

I am disappointed wit the unit. I would not recommend it to anyone. :thumbdown

I should have went with the SBR Kit and an Areomotive FPR.....its not that much more $.

1. You are correct though as you said no biggie.

2. I have not installed mine yet so I don't know about the grinding but the 2thin spts arenot likely to break unless someonedrops the rail with the adapter on hard!

3. No one's fault as installing a fuel rail and keeping the inj's in place can be a bit difficult.

4. Did the gaugecome with the AFPR? If it did they should have told you about an adapter. If you got a gauge yourself the responsibility would be yours.

5. I believe I can skip the adapter altogether by putting the regulator into the rail and drilling 2 new holes. Thanks for the tips! Mark

1. If you use the stock mounting hardware you don't have to grind anything.
2. I had no issues with the adapter and spark plug wires although they are close.
3. How did the cap break? Did you remove the fuel rail? I didn't have to remove my rail to install mine, just installed the adapter, then the FPR.
4. If you are using a remote fuel pressure gauge then you don't need an adapter. If you are using a gauge that bolts on the rail then yes, you need to pick up an additional 90 degree elbow.

I had no trouble installing mine and it's done its job w/o me having to worry about it. Out of the four reasons you posted why someone shouldn't get this AFPR, 1 & 4 could have been avoided by doing a search on the install first (these two issues were brought up in a FTS AFPR thread two weeks ago here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155046&highlight=FTS+AFPR) and I still don't understand how 3 happened.

If you aren't happy with it then send it back, or bring it up to the owner of FTS, Mike. Here is a link to the FTS forums: http://www.fullthrottletech.com/forums/index.php

It is only $90 more for the SBR setup, so go with what you feel comfortable with :thumb:

My major point is that the FTS FPR isn't truely a bolt on item.

By the looks, the Buschur Racing is a true bolt on.

The SBR seems the be the easiest remote mount.

I am just dissatisfied with the FTS one.

I think i may delete the adapter, drill 2 new holes and bolt it on like that. Simple. Mark

As a consumer, you're entitled to feel dissatisfied.

When you come down to it your choices are:
FTS AFPR $145
SB + Aeromotive $235
Buschur Racing $275

I didn't modify the adapter on mine because it wasn't interfering with the wire, so even though I had to go to the store to buy a .35 cent fitting to mount my gauge I still felt like it was a great deal. For me, it was a bolt-on.

I only posted because it seemed unfair to say that you "would not recommend it to anyone :thumbdown " when one of the reasons you provided was because you broke your #4 injector cap.

Either way, good luck with whatever setup you decide to run with.

It was originally designed to bolt on to the 2G fuel rail, which is why 1G's use an adapter.
Check out the pics in this thread and you'll see what I mean:

I don't know if there is major differences between 1G & 2G versions but my 2g FPR from Full Throttle was one of the more simple mods I have done. Took maybe 20 minutes to install with a gauge with no fitiment problems whatsoever. I am completely satisfied with the product maybe just not the abnormally long delivery it took to get it.

I installed my FTS FPR with out any problems the only thing i had to do was go to Robbins auto to get like a $0.40 adaptor for my gauge, after installing i've never had a problem and would definetly recommend it best bang for my buck :thumb:
