I was wondering if i would have any problems venting my BOV to the atmosphere (just for the sound) and install a cold air intake to replace the air loss from the BOV. Cause i heard someone talking about venting his BOV to the atmosphere which made his car run like sh!t.

P.S I know there is already a thread on this topic but it only talks about venting and not the cold air intake.:thumb:

It is not advised, to vent to the atmosphere. In any circumstance without a standalone or vpc. I don't know how a cold air intake is going to offset the lost metered air when the bov vents please explain what you are suggesting.

Is the BOV still gonna give off that nice sound since its not venting in the atmosphere?

NO, venting sounds cool, dont get me wrong. there is nothing like the sound of a RFL venting at 20 psi followed by a flame from the exhaust. performance wise, route it back in to the intake. its just all around better. ;)

What was that relationship between form and function again?

Technically it will still give off that sound, as the sound is produced by vibrations caused by the air exiting the BOV. Unfortunately the recirculation hose will absorb these vibrations (sound) and it will not be as audibly loud.
