Hey, i have been looking around for cat-back exhausts and found a cheap one on flowmaster that is only $202.00 for the 1g dsm's and i was wondering if anyone had a soundclip or video of a flowmaster on a 1g dsm!! Thanx! :dsm:

I have not heard of this exhaust, but in my experience the cannister type mufflers with resonators upstream produce much better results with much better sound and resonace quality than any type of domestic muffler, even "straigh through" mufflers. I really like my Apexi exhaust; it may be pricey but the power increase, exhaust tone with little interior resonance, and quality more than make up for the difference. I had a pressbent 3inch exhaust with a "flowpro" muffler for years. After getting my Apexi exhaust I wish I would have just cut off the stock muffler and saved up for the high quality exhaust in the first place. You get what you pay for with DSMs.

Chokemaster sucks. That great sound people talk about is your motor struggling to breath. I mean look at that muffler, its a maze.

If your looking for a cheaper domestic made exhaust, Magnaflow is a very good product. They make a stainless catback for 1gs that sounds great.

The baffles in a flowmaster muffler are there to help out with torque in an N/A motor, going from a stock muffler, then to a rice burner can, then to a flowmaster on my old car(96 plymouth breeze, 2.0 SOHC, Automatic), you could definitely tell a difference in the low end just where I needed it with that stupid automatic, but it was still slow, haha. On a turbo DSM a straight through exhaust is the way to go, flowmasters would just plug up the flow, but I bet it would sound pretty wicked.
