I have had countless stories on what to do about the 6-bolt block with 2G heads. I would like to see if I could solve this once and for all.
I placed the 2G heads on the 6-bolt block, and using my head bolts from the old 1G head, had no problem putting the bolts in. They were, however, about 1/2" inch to long. Why can I not just cut the bolts to the right size? RoadRaceEngineering said I needed to drill out the bolt holes in the head with a 1/2" inch bit. I said "wouldn't it leave me a hole to big around the bolts, allowing for leakage and no connection to the head bolts," in which they said, "go try to find a 12mm drill."??? I keep trying to get an answer from someone, but I always get confilicting stories on what to do. I am just trying to prevent from wrecking $2000 worth of engine from a misunderstandment. What is the difference in the 1G and 2G head bolts, if there is one, and the bolt passges in the blocks? (7-bolt to 6-bolt diff?)
Let me know what you people know or did, or can help me on so as to end this dilemma of mine. It would be much appreciated. Thanks, Cody.

) that some 2G heads will fit the 1G head bolts while others need to be machined out a little to fit. I would get the 1G head bolts, see if they fit and the clearance between the cylinder and the bolts. Go to a machine shop and get them to maching the head bolt passages to be snug with the 1G head bolts. Voila!
