spool up noise

ok, just a small question here, my 95 tsi started making a noise when it spools up, this noise only occurs after start up, it sounds almost like something is hitting in the turbo, very lightly. the turbo is was great when i put it on a couple months ago, no shaft play at all. this is a stock t-25 unit i used to replace the one that was on the car. after the first few spool up's the noise is gone and sounds normal, any ideas? also, in the past week the car has thrown a few thin black clouds on heavy acceleration, in all gears..... is it possible for the turbo seal to be shot? i bought the car with a blown turbo and i know it had been driven for about 6 months that way, but when i first drove it it hardly smoked, just wouldnt spool up.... could she have messed something up by running it with a non functional turbo? ok, one last question...... this car really bangs on bumps, if i launch the car at 3 grand and hit a bump the bump makes it sound like something snapped, is there some sort of bump stop or something that i am unaware of? any help will bbe greatly appreciated. thanks, kre8ive

Umm sounds to me you have a exhaust leak at your manny...Guarenteed..and once it warms up it expands and seals up....you are hearing the exhaust side of the turbo when it spools....but wont do it unless you are under boost...dd you have any broken exhaust studs in the head??? check for that....

yeah.... that would definately make sense, didn't even think about that....... when i changed the turbo the gasket was cracked in two piecesso instead of waiting and getting a new one i used a good dab of high temp copper gasket maker...... i figured it wouldn't last but i could at least put it back together. thanks a lot
