1g head in a 2g?

ok i am looking to do the 1g head swap in my 95 talon i was gonna use the cas option but am i going to have any problem running dsm link setup with the swap done. anyone ever run dsm link with the head swap help me out here need some info. :thumb: :thumbdown :barf:
 
I'm not sure I understand your question. DSMlink will allow you to run the 1g CAS with no random misfire issues, not hinder you in any way... In fact I dont recomend people do 6 bolt, 1g head, or other mods requiring 1g CAS unless they DO use DSMlink. The baro wire mod works, but its ugly. ;)
 
igot a 91 talon n/t. has alot of miles dont have lots of $ but wanna do a swap.

Got any idea on what? If you use proper grammer and english we might have some type of idea what the hell your talking about. At this point all I can make out is your asking if a JDM N/T motor will work in your N/T car, if so Yes is the answer they are the same and it's a direct replacement.
 
ok so what about if i do a whole 6 bolt swap in my 2g talon will dsm link still run the car no right? so should i do a 6bolt swap and a 2g head and then i can run dsm link with no problems. basicily i was wondering id i could run dsm link on a 1g engin with out any problem. and to the guy that stold my post go post some where els with your crap not over my post.
 
I still dont understand the question. DSMlink is ECU specific, doesnt matter what car/engine it is. People have wired 2g ECUs into 1G cars just to use DSMlink. DSMlink doesnt care which DSM motor or CAS you have.

How is the baro mod ugly? took me a few minutes to solder, and a few minutes to retune. Has been working flawlessly since.
 
You are telling the ECU that you are somewhere over 6000 feet altitude. That makes the motor about 30% too lean if you are near sealevel. So you have to compensate with an AFC or similar. Now if you live at high altitude, the change is much less significant. Also, if you have large injectors going another 30% positive can get an AFC closer to the center of its adjustment range. For most poeple this works just fine, but when I started to get near 50 lbs/min airflow, I was NOT comfortable with the risk level that comes with these mismatched settings. Its ugly, IMO :) Once I got up to and beyond 50 trim sized turbos, I went to DSMlink (that was the only major reason I bought it. Little did I know how powerful DSMlink is).
 
I see. I am running the GM MAF setup, so I am able to get a base tune on that, and then AFC settings arent too bad.. Im running 50 trim and 720s btw.

But yea, I wish I had dsm-link
