lower end rebuild?

hi i am doing the lower end on my 95 talon tsi turbo awd ive herd that you cant just un bolt the oil pan and put new bearings in is this the truth or did i read it wrong. please hit me up if u know the answer is it like changing bearings on a honda or is ot not possible that way.

to put new bearing in, u have to remove the crank, wipe out all the dirt, and torque the main caps back down. Might as well pollish the crank white its out, and possibly do a full rebuild. Make sure u use lots of engine lube on the TOP side of the bearings so the surface wont scratch up. Go ahead and fix all the small things that may need to be fixed also. i change the bearing on mine by just dropping the pan. i had a bad knock, and not enough to rebuild it. if i pulled it out i would be putting a 2.4 back in.
