ok i have a 95 eagle talon tsi awd with 80,000 miles it has intake, turbo xs rfl bov, stage 3 clutch, stock inter cooler hard piping, 10.2 mm plug wires, ngk plugs. i am buying a 50 trim turbo, walbro 255 high flow fuel pump, 660 injectors, boost controol and gage and pod, and the big spearco fmic, i am also going to port the exhaust manifold and going to run dsm link. i have stock internals and dont plan on upgradeing for about a year. i was wondering if u guys think i should go with a bigger turbo or am i gonna be happy with the 50 trim. i use this car for daily driver also for street use. also what should i boost with that set up safely. and what 1/4 mile times should i be pulling. if u have any sugestions hit me up.

I believe the 50 trim will support about as much power as the 7-bolt will take. I've also seen reports of the 50 trims running into the 11's.

you might wanna recirc that RFL... i had my bov venting for a little while and when i hooked it up to recirc i shed about a tenth of a second off my 1/4 time.

thx ill try it and see what happens what do u think ill be running in the 1/4

Original question:

The T4 50 trim compressor wheel can support well over 400 whp, so it's going to be enough turbo for the engine in your car. Anything bigger is just going to be a waste of money, and you'll lose some powerband.

You could run anywhere from 11's to 14's in the quarter, it totally depends on how well the car is set up, what type of fuel you are using, how well the car is tuned, driving, traction... you get the idea.

High 11's on race gas and 12's on pump gas would be a good goal for a pretty well set-up (but not maxxed out) 50 trim for the average DSM'er.

While I am on a thread titles rampage:

The title "turbo ?" doesn't really do anything to describe this thread. In the future, please be more specific with your thread titles because it makes it much easier to find information in the future. Non-specific titles is like having unnamed chapters in an encyclopedia, or a dictionary that isn't in alphabetical order; good luck finding any kind of information in that mess.

More appropriate would be "Is a 50 trim big enough for my setup?" or "How big a turbo should use with a stock 7-bolt?"

Of course, this kind of question has probably been answered 100 times before, but one step at a time. :D

I don't see you saying anything about fuel control besides a fuel pump. If your going to a set up like you mentioned your going to need some type of fuel management, and a logger to tune your car. You could have everything mentioned above and have your car run like crap if you don't tune. Your going to want to get dmslink or a safc. IMO I would get these (either), learn how to tune your car first, then get the set up you mentioned. If you do it all at once that would work too, but you don't want to have a set up like you stated above without fuel management and proper tuning.

He did say that he was going to run a 255, 660's, and DSMlink :) . However, I'd also invest in a fuel pressure regulator to help with that 255 pump!
