emissions just a CEL ?

hi, just removed all the emissions crap and i know if you unhook the hoses but leave the sensors plugged in you wont get a cel, but i want to remove the sensors all together to clean up the firewall, so i guess my question is other than just making the light come on(becuase i can just take the bulb out)will the screw anything up?thanks.

YES problems will happen asshole....I just joined the board...yeah over 1 year ago. When you pull emissions equipment the ecu/ecm will go into default mode and WILL cause problems....but wait Im just another useless person on the boards :rolleyes: dont be an ass
 
:rolleyes: what kind of peon answers multiple questions with one response that is not directed at one inquerry in specific. shit, and if i knew what it would do if unplugged the emissions stuff i wouldnt have made a new thread about it. wtf is "default mode" if you are going to respond to a post, respond with something useful or dont respond at all dipshit. :thumb:
 
2bar4g63t, did you already remove everything? I am thinking about doing it according to Taboo speed shop's website. I was wondering the same things about removeing everything though. Have you noticed anything since you removed it all?
 
no, i used that diagram from taboo too, and capped off everything, runs fine right now, but i would like to remove those sensors all together, i dont care about that little light, i have gauges for everything important. you try it first and let me know how it goes, LOL.
 
2bar4g63t, I don't know what model you have but,

I have an early (CA) '90 Laser utilizing a (FED ECU) with ALL emisssions removed including solenoids and I don't throw any ECU codes at all. For what it's worth.

If you have a 94 1G or any 2G, I believe your ECU should be the same as a CA ECU and includes an EGR sensor.

If you have a CA or any of the afore mentioned ECU's in your car.
You can check the thread below to see about possibly changing your ECU to a FED by placing or removing a resistor in the 129 or 130 slot.

I don't know about the try it first suguesstion but I know when I unhooked my stock boost solenoid it threw cels daily but that is all it did, it had no other effect. I just don't know about the emmision ones. Hell I have to remove all the vac lines and conisters first. You could always unplug the solenoids and drive her around the block, if at worst it runs in "default mode" just reset your ecu and plug them back in.
