k, heres the deal. i have a friend who wants to get upgraded injectors for his 97 gsx. hes leaning towards 660cc injectors, but wants other opinions first. his mods are as follows:

mods:
6bolt swap
adjustable hayame camgears
spearco fmic
greddy uicp
greddy type-s bov
small 16g turbo@15psi
3in turbo-back
turbo x/s mbc
walbro 255lph fuel pump/rewired
safc 1
clutchmasters 5puck clutch(not too sure)
onsoku 10mm wires
denso iridium plugs.....

and i think thats all. the reason im asking is cause a friend told us said the only way to run 660s is to have an eprom chip on the ecu, if not, the car would run like crap. weve been getting different opinions on this, so i wanna see what youall think. is it good for him to just go with 550s? or are 660s a good choice?

that sounds like a job for 550s, as far as i know dsmlink is one of the few engine managment systems that can controll all sorts of injectors. I think in your friends application it would be best to fit the injectors to the application. there are actualy calculations that you can use to determine how much fuel you will need at x boost, with some VE percentage... look around.

will he be able to run high boost without any probs with the 550s? 18psi for example.

I am sure you could get 660s to work as long as he buys an Adj. FPR. This is very important when running with the 255lph especially for those with the high pressure unit. I would recommend getting the 660s, that way he can upgrade to a bigger turbo in the future and not have to worry about fueling. :thumb: If he doesn't see himself upgrading ever then tell him the 550s are plenty for his 16G and he won't need that AFPR.

im pretty sure hes gonna go with the 660s now. but when he gets them with the adjustable fpr, what psi should it be set at? and whats a good adj. fpr to go with? also, what about the safc settings, what would his best bet be? oh, and his 255 isnt the high pressure unit. and hes planning on upgrading to a hrc super 20g in the near future, so im sure the 660s are they way to go

so there should be no problems running the 660s on the stock ecu with a adj fpr?
