I started collecting parts to start modding my car. Mind you I will be running an upgraded turbo (16g to start out with) and tuning the stuff myself. Thus far...

Off to a good start? Not going to start putting it on until I get more parts.

Next is going to be Greddy type S, bigger pump (255), SAFC, Plug wires, Test pipe, and Spark plugs. Any ideas on good brands for these?
 
You need a logging tool such as a pocket logger to see what your motor is doing under raised boost conditions . Knock is not your freind.

I already got the MBC :)

Which intake would be best? Dejob tools? I am confused of how to go about it though. I am going to get a greddy Type S, but where is it going to mount? Does it fit on the stock intercooler piping? I am going to get a FMIC within the next few months, so I guess I will have to get a flange welded to it?
 
Theres no need to spend mega bucks on brand name hollow pipes. But yea, an intake would be a good mod, then you an buy some sort of tuning device. Its never too early to learn how to tune.
 
Some good news is my HKS Hipower wasn't in stock so I just canceled the order. I now have 500 bucks to play around with. Should I just get the 16g turbo or what?

I have seen two motors blow headgaskets in the last 2 months becuase the owner thought he could turn up the boost and not monitor for knock and had no afc . You must have a data logger of some sort or you will be thru. Research the posts and you will see that you need one if you plan on turning up the boost. I couldnt do without it and I am still only running 10 psi. I should be running 18 by the end of next week.
