I did my tbelt about 4 weeks ago car runs great, but the t-belt seems a little loose not much. Is there a tool you can use to check slack? how do I know if the T-belt is tensioned to spec?:(

Sorry im really parinoid about the whole thing. The thought that my engines life depends on that belt makes me a little scaredOMG

The cover has to be off to check tension. On 6 bolts, there should be between .15 and .18 inches between the top of the tensioner and the arm it pushes against (set a small feeler gauge to that size, and see if it fits tight). On 7 bolts, you should just about be able to put the pin back in. How did you check it before you put the car back together? And all the procedures are listed in the VFAQ.
