Hey gang,..

Im shopping around for an assembled 6 bolt. Its going into my daily driver 90 GSX with 16g, FMIC 550s etc, but not going to be used mainly for a drag car or anything, so its gotta be reliable and last a few years,..

My question is, has anyone had experiences with FFWDConnection.com or Jacksonautomachine.com when buying an assembled 6 bolt block? Who's better and what experience have you had? Ive heard of FFWD but not much from JAM, but local club member referred me to them,..

JAM has more info on their sheet and it looks impressive,..especially for the price, But you get what you pay for, so Im wonder about their quality and cust service. Here are some links,..

FFWDConnection costs more and I need to call for more details, but spec sheet is almost similiar (although they havent mentioned yet to me about what bearings they use or other new parts) but will cost me like $600 more. But Darren at FFWD has been nothing but courteous, fast, and straightfoward with my questions.

So has anyone any thoughts or opinions where to buy a 6 bolt,..I want to have 95 pistons (8.5 compression), ARP everything, Clevites or better, and proper prep (Cryo is a plus),..

thanks
Kevin A.

Come on gang,..

I know some of you peeps got FFWD Connection engines,..and has anyone any experiences with JacksonAutoMachine? Im not looking for any "bashing",..just what you think of the Stage 1 2.0L bottom end blocks each have,...I just need a reliable block I can put back in my car with confidence as I cant trust the machine shops (or want to put my friends on the hot seat) to assemble my 6 bolt. Its crankwalk and any bottom end problems I want to avoid as mostly everything else I can handle on this island,...So, buying a block from someplace I can trust would really help my wallet as Im already out 1.5-2K on my rebuild, not to mention another 2K on new aftermarket parts collecting dust. Like one said,.."What is the use of horsepower if its sitting in the garage?"

It would really help me out as I know some of you know how frustrating building up a motor and seeing it go bad with only 400 miles (in my case) can be. Being in Hawaii has its limitations to trustworthy shops and places to go for parts/service.

Please, some feedback,..

Kevin

well I plan to go with ffwd when I save up 10 grand I'm a need em to make an 2.3 that can take 1000lbs of tq :thumb: but thats just me the fact is I have heard nothing but good things from them and the fact that they made shep racing meaning nothing

I have a ffwd motor and it is awesome (looking) i havent had the chance to fire it up yet just got everything in getting wiring done now... wouldnt have made another choice, and darren is one of the best to work with he doesnt bs with you he is straight forward. :thumb:

I live here in Tulsa, about 20 minutes from Darens shop,(FFWD) I have bought quite a few items from him and had some cryo done :thumb: Daren is the coolest guy and really knows his shit, he is cool to you even if you can not afford one of his engines.

I do have a friend that has one of his engines and he has put 60k on it with a 20g and has never had a problem with it, and he beats on it pretty good, he even used nitrous on it a few times last summer and it will still spin all 4.

I know this much, the cryo is awsome, I even had my pistol done. And they build John Shepards engines for gods sake, that aught to tell you a lot right there, I would go with those guys with out a doubt,if I could afford it.
