I just installed the supra sidemount intercooler on my 2g. A couple of things to note:
1.) w/out a dremel and the right tools, the install can be a biatch. Its relatively easy if you have the right stuff.
2.) I didn't have to flip the end tanks. I decided to widen the stock uicp hole. The intercooler fit right in that location perfect. Although it does hang about 1/2- 3/4" below the inner fender. It doesn't bulge out the side at all.
For performance, this thing kicks arse!! My boost creep issues took a toll on my poor lil stock smic. It would heaksoak as soon as the boost reached 20 psi. The first time I got on it w/ the supra smic I immediately noticed the car pulled much...much harder at 20 psi. If it means anything, my karmen reading also went up 50-75 hz as well. Keep in mind I changed nothing (i.e. boost, afc settings, parts) other than the smic to see these performance gains. For a 16g turbo, I think the supra smic is the way to go!!! Especially since the name brand smic are like around $400 now.
