evo III 16g question

hey guys I want to buy a evo III, do I need a new 02 housing or does it bolt right up? and if you could post some pics of your evo III turbos please thanks, and im hopeing you can feel the power difference from the 14b to the evo III, im running 16 psi on a 14b stock fuel setup
 
The turbo is a direct replacement for your stock one. It flows around 150 cfms more then the 14b, it will be exactly the same as installing a stock turbo i.e. all oil and water linescan be used as well as your o2 ousing. Yes you will feel a difference, but it wont be the same night and day like switching from a t25 to a b16g, but you will most definatley feel a difference. with a stock fuel system keep the boost reletivley low. With a 190 and fpr I am currently at 15psi and the car feels great, but I wouldnt push it past that until you upgrade the fuel a little.

I thought the Evo pushes more than the Big 16, why most ppl go with the evo rather than the big 16.
 
16G, Big 16G, E316G in that order. Just get you a set of 550's and a 255hp fuel pump rewire the fuel pump and youll be good with a 16 just keep the boost low.
 
oh yea im not keeping stock fuel I got an afc and 550's but not installed yet and yea I think im gonna get a 255 thanks a lot for your help
 
Don't mean to hijack a post, but I'm getting an EVO III 16g as well and had the same question, but for a 2g. I thought the o2 housings were relatively the same from a 1g to a 2g, but just to double check, would the 2g o2 mate right up to the EVO 16g as well? Or would it be more beneficial to buy a new o2 from an evo III.
 
2G you need turbo, + install kit, @ least fuelpump

it will bolt up but the evo's turbine exit it 2.5" and even my ported 2g o2 housing is smaller so your best bet is just go with an evo o2 housing :thumb:
 
the compressor housing looks somwhat bigger than the 14b and small 16g is that right or is it just me? and why am I seeing people with 40mm external gates on 16g evo III turbos?
 
A 2g o2 housing will bolt up directly with no problems. I did the install myself on a buddies car about 3 weeks ago.
