car stalls?!!

I finally got the car running and the new motor to start and idle right. Now everytime I come roling up to a light in 2nd gear lets say around 2000rpm and I push in the clutch and put it in neutral the car stalls. If I leave it in 2nd and wait for the revs to drop to idle speed ( so the car is shaking ) and then push the clutch and put it in neutral then it doesn't stall. So only if I'm at higher rpms and I push the clutch it will drop below idle and sometimes stall. I have a fidanza flywheel, but last year it would only do this if the AC was turned on. Now it always does it... what could be causing this?
 
Turn up the idle to around 900-1000.
 
yea that's what I ended up doing ... I'm going to take it out for a test drive tonight after dinner. How common is it for a rebuilt engine to leak a little bit? It doesn't leak when the engine is off, but it drips from a few spots when it's running. I put some stop leak stuff in so hopefully that will take car of it ... :thumbdown
 
Whats it leaking? Coolant, Oil, Boost? Regardless of the type, leaks are the enemy!
 
I'm having the same issue with my car. I took it to the dyno and got the top end squared away, but I am still dealing with idle issues at low RPM's with cold starts and coming to a stop at lights. My idle is currently at 900 RPM's or so. Keep us posted on what your trying to do to fix the issue. I've also been playing with the AFC settings in the throttle position below 30%.

As for leaks my motor did not leak at all except for the oil pan. I did have a buddy who rebuilt a 6-bolt and it leaked for about 800 miles and then quit. Hope that is the same for you.
 
UPDATE:

I got 100 miles on the car now and everything is running great. After the idle adjustment I had 2 instances where I was about at 3000 rpm and I pushed the clutch in and put it in neutral and the car still died out, but just normal driving it is fine now. All the leaks in the front stopped, I'm just getting some dripping from behind the block?!?! I can't tell what it is but I'm thinking maybe the axle seal is bad and the axle is slinging trans fluid and thats whats making such a mess?? There isn't really any way oil would come out the back of the block unless there is a hole in it and I know it's not coolant... ( back of the block meaning the side closest to you when you are in the car ) Once it got dark out and I had my headlights on I did notice some white smoke coming out from under my hood. White smoke = coolant? I hope so because my friend spilled some coolant on the trans and it might just be burning off I'm thinking. When I pop the hood I can't see the smoke anymore and I can't trace it to the source so that's my guess. Overall the car is running really good.
